What would love do?

growing old is growing your collection of scars. growing up is trying to be more gentle despite your scars, with your scars, and because of your scars. and learning to be more gentle is asking yourself a simple question…what would love do?
what would love do?
when you don’t understand where someone else is coming from, what would love do? would it comfortably linger at the door, a frown plastered on its face? or would it pack its reasons in a bag and set out on an adventure to learn and grow? because love may be determined, but it is not stubborn.
when something good comes knocking at your door while fear sits tight like a padlock, what would love do? would it pretend no one is home while wishing to be found? or would it let it in, the good with the bad? because love may be cautious, but it is not cynical.
when your truth is questioned, what would love do? would it sweep it under the rug, hoping the fire between, and within, will quiet down? or would it be loud and protect your truth? because love may be soft, but it is not scared.
would love be selfish and suffocate? or would it make a home out of the wild? or would it find its way, like it always does?
what would love do? I haven’t quite figured it out yet but that’s okay because love is patient and kind, and time is fleeting but love is not.
