Make a mess. You'll be fine.

I hope that you make a mess of things.

I hope you do it countless times. The kind of mess that's too small to even notice, but you make it seem bigger in your head because you have a habit of doing that. The kind that is big enough for people to take notice of, but is not big enough to take hold of your life. The kind that has the power to change your life but doesn't. The kind that does.

When you do make a mess, I hope you learn to clean up after it. I hope you don't point fingers, or run away in fear, or worse, get comfortable sitting around in that mess. I hope you take the time to clean up your mess. But don't keep running in circles either- cleaning and messing up the same things. Some stains need a little more help cleaning up. I hope you know that you can ask for help when you can't do it yourself. And you can't do everything yourself. Find people who don't enjoy the drama, I promise people like that do exist. Find them and keep them close. And ask for help.

I hope that you feel like you can make a mess. I hope you never get trapped in a place that's too perfect to mess up. And don't become an observer just because you're afraid to make the wrong move. Often, there's nothing worse than sitting still due to fear. I hope you know that the things you're afraid of are a lot smaller than you make them out to be. When these things are forgotten, and they soon will be, you'll still be here. Scared to make a move, scarred by the ones that went wrong, scared of doing something right after a long time.

So make a mess once in a while. And when you do, please don't allow people to call you a mess. And don't you dare become one of those people.
